HPE P43328-B21 32GB DDR5-4800 2Rx8 RDIMM Smart Memory Kit

HPE P43328-B21 is a 32GB DDR5-4800 registered Smart Memory kit for ProLiant Gen11 servers with Intel Xeon processors. The DIMM is dual rank, built from 16Gb x8 DRAM, with CAS 40-39-39 timings, EC8 error correction and a 1.1V supply. HPE PartSurfer lists the spare as P48501-001.

HPE's server QuickSpecs list this kit for the ProLiant DL380 Gen11 and DL320 Gen11, and the DDR5 Smart Memory QuickSpecs place it in the Intel section. AMD-based Gen11 servers use a separate kit, P50311-B21, with the same headline specs. On a processor that supports 5600 MT/s the module still runs at its 4800 MT/s rating, and if it is mixed with 5600 MT/s kits, all memory runs at 4800.

Before ordering:

• Match the x8 organization of the memory already installed. The DL320 Gen11 QuickSpecs say x4, x8 and 3DS modules should not be mixed.
• Do not mix RDIMMs with other DIMM types; the DL380 Gen11 QuickSpecs rule this out.
• Fill channels evenly so each processor gets balanced bandwidth.

DDR5-4800 is the top memory speed of 4th Gen Xeon Scalable processors, the chips many Gen11 servers shipped with, so this kit matches the memory already in a large share of installed DL380 and DL320 Gen11 systems. That makes it a practical way to expand a server without changing its memory profile. Being HPE Smart Memory, it is recognized by the server as a genuine HPE part.
