Overview
The HPE Aruba CX 6100 JL676A is the non-PoE 48-port model in the CX 6100 family. It fits closets that mostly connect desktops, printers, docking stations and other wired devices that bring their own power, where PoE would only add cost and heat.
It has 48 RJ45 ports at 10/100/1000 and four built-in SFP+ ports that take 1G or 10G transceivers or DAC cables. HPE rates the switch at 176 Gbps and 98.6 Mpps, the same as the PoE versions, so moving between models does not change performance. The power supply is internal and fixed.
The switch runs AOS-CX. HPE describes the 6100 as a fully managed Layer 2 switch with static routing and access OSPF added for edge routing. It does not support stacking. You can manage it through the CLI or web GUI, provision it with zero-touch provisioning, or add it to HPE Aruba Networking Central with a Class 1 subscription. Because it shares AOS-CX with the 6200 and 6300 lines, templates and monitoring carry over to larger CX deployments.
Before ordering, confirm that nothing on these ports will need PoE, such as phones, APs or badge readers. If any will, the 48-port PoE model is the JL675A. Plan your SFP+ optics to match the fiber or DAC you run back to the distribution layer.
