Overview
The HPE Aruba CX 6200F JL728A is the higher-power version of the 48-port 6200F. It has the same ports and stacking as the 370W model, but double the PoE budget at 740W. It is a good fit for closets that feed a large number of access points, PTZ or multi-sensor cameras, or other devices drawing near the Class 4 limit.
All 48 RJ45 Gigabit ports support Class 4 PoE at up to 30W per port. With 740W available you can run about 24 ports at a full 30W, or all 48 at roughly 15W, without managing PoE priorities closely. Four SFP+ ports take 100M, 1G or 10G transceivers or DAC cables.
The 6200F supports VSF stacking of up to 8 switches, and a stack can mix 6200F and 6200M models (except the 12-port 6200F). The power supply and fans are fixed. The switch runs AOS-CX with ACLs, QoS, static routing, access OSPF, Dynamic Segmentation and the Network Analytics Engine. You can manage it locally or in HPE Aruba Networking Central with a Class 2 subscription.
HPE now sells this model as the B revision, JL728B. The JL728A listed here is the original part number. Before ordering, confirm which revision you need, especially if it is joining an existing stack, and check the AOS-CX version the stack runs. Also check that the circuit feeding the closet can carry the extra load of a 740W PoE switch.
