Overview
The HPE Aruba CX 6300F JL665A is the fixed-configuration counterpart of the 6300M 48-port PoE model. It has the same 48 Gigabit RJ45 ports and four SFP56 uplinks, but its power supply and fans are built in instead of modular. For many access closets that makes ordering simpler, because there are no power supplies or fan trays to add.
Each RJ45 port supports Class 4 PoE at up to 30W, and HPE lists a total PoE budget of 740W. That is enough to run all 48 ports at about 15W each, or fewer ports at higher draw. If you need more PoE headroom or redundant power supplies, look at the modular 6300M JL661A instead.
The four SFP56 ports run at 1G, 10G, 25G or 50G. HPE rates the switch at 496 Gbps and 369 Mpps. The 6300F can stack through VSF with up to 10 members, and the stack can mix 6300F and 6300M models. That lets you put a fixed 6300F in a smaller closet and still manage it in the same stack as modular units. The 6300L cannot be stacked with it.
Software is AOS-CX with OSPF, BGP, VRF and EVPN/VXLAN, plus the Network Analytics Engine for monitoring. Central management uses a Class 3 subscription. Before ordering, check that 740W covers your expected PoE load, and decide whether you need the redundant power that only the 6300M offers.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 6300F and 6300M?
The 6300F has a fixed power supply and fans. The 6300M has modular, field-replaceable power supplies and fan trays, and with the right power supplies it can deliver more PoE.
How much PoE does the JL665A provide?
HPE lists a 740W PoE budget, with up to 30W (Class 4) on any port.
Can it stack with a 6300M?
Yes. VSF allows mixed 6300F and 6300M stacks of up to 10 switches.
