Overview

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 is a 1U, two-socket rack server and one of the most widely deployed ProLiant models. Refurbished units are bought for virtualization hosts, web and application tiers, and small database servers where rack density counts. This listing is built on the 8 SFF configure-to-order chassis, HPE part 867959-B21.

It supports one or two Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 1st or 2nd Generation, with up to 28 cores each. There are 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, 12 per processor, and HPE lists a 3.0TB maximum using 128GB LRDIMMs at 2933 MT/s. Twelve of the slots can hold NVDIMMs or HPE Persistent Memory. The front has eight 2.5-inch SAS/SATA bays, and HPE offers an option for two more SFF or NVMe drives. Every unit has the S100i software RAID controller on board. Hardware RAID comes from modular Smart Array cards that do not use a PCIe slot: the E208i-a, P408i-a or P816i-a.

The 867959-B21 chassis includes HPE's embedded 4 x 1GbE 331i adapter and a FlexibleLOM slot for 10GbE or 25GbE. Two PCIe 3.0 slots are standard and a third is optional. Flex Slot power supplies are available at 500W, 800W and 1600W. Management is through iLO 5 with Intelligent Provisioning.

What is the difference between 867959-B21 and P19766-B21?

Both are DL360 Gen10 8 SFF CTO chassis. 867959-B21 has the embedded 4 x 1GbE 331i network adapter. P19766-B21 is the Network Choice version with no embedded NIC, so it needs a FlexibleLOM or PCIe network card.

Does the DL360 Gen10 support NVMe drives?

The 8 SFF chassis takes SAS/SATA drives in its eight bays, and HPE lists an option for two additional NVMe drives. HPE also made a separate 10 SFF NVMe chassis. Tell us what you need.

Do Smart Array controllers use a PCIe slot?

The modular -a controllers (E208i-a, P408i-a, P816i-a) plug into a dedicated connector on the system board and leave the PCIe slots free. The -p versions are standard PCIe cards.

iLO 5. The standard license is built in, and iLO Advanced is an optional license for features such as the full remote console.
